In 2010, the Cacapon & Lost Rivers Land Trust celebrated placing over 10,000 acres of the watershed in permanently protected easements. These easements will guarantee that this, and future generations, will always be able to enjoy the scenic, ecological, and historic values of the watershed.
To recognize this landmark event, two very generous anonymous donors, pledged $18,000. However, there was a catch. The donors would only make the gift provided the Trust could match the challenge grants, dollar for dollar. We did it!
